Mistral on a voyage of discovery
Mistral sets sail on the 20th March to the Brothers on a Get Wrecked escorted charter with wreck expert Mike Ward. Apart from the pristine reefs, warm waters of the Red Sea, and the plethora of wrecks to dive, this charter has an added dimension. This is a voyage of discovery, and for those who are booked on-board, it offers the chance to be the first to dive a new wreck. Tech and Wreck expert Aaron Bruce will be on board, alongside long term Tornado Marine Fleet dive guide Reda, and of course Mike Ward. The wreck is currently un-dived, she lies near the Ulysses and Rosalie Moller in an estimated depth of 80-90m, so divers must have the correct dive qualifications and experience. Watch this space for more news on the discovery.

T2 / Tornado Marine Fleet Staff Trip.
Tornado Marine Fleet in conjunction with T2 hosted an overnight mini safari on board M.Y Tempest for Diving Instructors from various centers. Eleven Instructors from Ze-Club, Ocean College, Tornado Marine Fleet, plus the Recreational Manager of the Four Seasons, I.T manager from Red Sea Diving College, and the patron of T2 Mr Monty himself headed out to sea midday on Thursday to spend the night at the Alternatives. Although the trip caught the tail end of the winter winds everybody enjoyed their time. At night they were treated to a spectacular nature scene, of a massive flock of flying seagulls surrounding the boat attracted by the fish caught in the boats lights. Some Instructors had never been on a liveaboard before, and were impressed by the luxury of the boat, the spacious en-suite cabins, and the service of the crew and the saloon staff. A big thank you goes to the CEO of Tornado Marine Fleet Mr. Ayman Mousa for providing the charter, and Monty for generously contributing to the costs.

Life in Sharm el Sheikh - Feb 2011
Sharm el Sheikh the City of Peace has more than lived up to her name in the recent events in Egypt. Obviously the media coverage of protests in Cairo and Egypt’s main cities has caused concern amongst tourists interested in returning or visiting Egypt for the first time. For anyone who is thinking of booking a diving holiday in Sharm, there is no need to worry. Life in our little town continues as normal, and definitely life below the water on the pristine reefs and wrecks of the Red Sea is carrying on as before. Tongue in cheek, there have been a number of tanks spotted in Sharm, but these tanks are only of the variety seen strapped on Scuba Divers backs! The Tornado Marine Fleet tank boys are busy loading and filling them on our liveaboard fleet. So rest assured life is the same in Sharm el Sheikh, the water is still warm, the fish and coral still vibrant, and our fleet still offering our famous five star diving service.

Mistral’s orientation day - Feb 2011
Tornado Marine Fleet’s marketing department hosted a successful orientation day on board our new boat Mistral. Members of the dive community and guests of Tornado Marine Fleet were invited on board for a lovely buffet lunch, and to view the facilities on the new boat at the Sharm el Sheikh International Port. Everyone agreed that the boat is five star and very well appointed, with spacious cabins, restaurant, and sun decks.
The photographers on board amongst the guests were particularly happy with the dedicated photo room which is accessible from the dive deck. Mistral is also equipped with a Haskel pump which allows for mixed gas diving.
Members of UK’s Scuba Travel also attended the orientation and were equally impressed with her facilities. For more information regarding availability or for full charter requests please do not hesitate to contact us on info@tornadomarinefleet.com

Cyclone - September 2010
Two guests on Cyclone, Martin Warner and Eileen Budd, got engaged on the bow of Thistlegorm yesterday with a little help from the guides, Pete and Karen. The cunning plan worked so well that Eilleen had no clue as to what was about to happen. An SMB was prepared with the all important question, the descent was made and Eilleen was distracted while Martin unravelled the SMB. When she turned around the look of surprise was evident on her face and with a huge sigh of relieve from both Martin and the watching guides and Camera Operator, Debbie from Blue Eye FX, Eilleen said yes. A ring was produced from the pocket of Martins shorts and the deal was sealed with a kiss.

Hurricane trip 4th July - Photography week
Hurricane set sail on a special photography week with divers from Scuba Travel UK and renowned photographer Martin Edge. Martin Edge is a published photographer, published author, and has won many awards for his underwater images. For the past 20 years has continued his passion to teach and develop other aspiring underwater photographers. Hurricane’s photography week, was a special itinerary designed to do just that. At the end of the week the images of the divers were judged in a friendly competition, with Paul Short’s image of divers entering the water on a twilight dive to capture the dappled light at The Alternatives, winning the competition. Paul was presented with a Hurricane T-Shirt by Martin Edge and Captain Hamada. Tornado Marine Fleet would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Paul.

Hurricane trip 30th May - And huge congratulations go to:
On 2nd June, David proposed to Jane on Small Gobal Island at sunset. We had had a great days diving completing three dives on the Rosalie Moller, and went back round to moor up at Small Gobal Island overnight. Most of the guests went via zodiac for a stroll around the island to see the sea eagles. We arranged a private trip for Dave and Jane on to the island at sunset as the others returned to the boat. Dave managed to keep it a secret from everyone, including Jane. He duly proposed at sunset, and she accepted. On their return to the boat, champagne was served (this had been brought on the pretext it was for a birthday) and we had dinner and celebrated into the evening.

The fire continued until approximately 23.00 the same day spreading to several other boats stationed nearby and completely destroying Typhoon. No one has been injured during this incident.
Alternative arrangements for all existing bookings on MY Typhoon are being made and customers will be contacted within the next few days to reconfirm their reservation.
